Koh Pa

Koh Pa is a small island to the west of Koh Kho Khao and houses young coral reefs growing along the coast. The place is very popular among tourists who stay on Koh Kho Khao. This quiet beach is a nice place for swimming, diving, fishing and sunbathing.

Tung Tuk Ancient Town (Mueng Thong Archeological Site)

Situated on the South Eastern coast of the island opposite to Takaupa River Delta, there are various kinds of ancients artifacts that have been discovered at this archeological site, such as pottery and glassware from the Middle East and tableware like bowls and plates from China’s Tang Dynasty and a large number of traditional pottery, stone beads and glasses.

In addition to the ancient objects brought for sale in the past, sacred statues from both Buddhist and Brahman religions have also been found here. These remnants bear evidence of the presence of a large community existing in the past, as well as of traders from different parts of the world that had been travelling to Koh Kho Khao for commercial purpose.

Ton Thong Waterfall

At the northeast end of the island, the small “Ton Thong Waterfall” is Koh Kho Khao’s only waterfall. Accessible during October-February.

Creating Ancient Bead Replicas

Unique and culturally rich souvenirs from Koh Kho Khao. Attend a workshop on recreating ancient bead, replicating those discovered at the Tung Tuk archaeological site – zebra beads, amber beads, and dewdrop beads.

There are various species of birds, both migratory and resident, inhabiting watersheds on the island. A watch-tower is available for birdwatchers, and the good time is early morning.
